Dear Leaders Heights Elementary Families,

I hope this message finds everyone healthy and well. Our Leaders Heights Elementary staff continues to miss our students and are thankful for the opportunities we have had to visit with them through Google Hangout. As we approach the end of the 2019-2020 school year, we understand the importance of our students finding closure. While we wish we could celebrate the school year together in person, that is not an option currently available to us. To provide some closure and smiles to wrap-up the school year, we will be providing opportunities for students to “drive-by” the school to pick up personal items and return materials such as library books to the school.

During specific, assigned times, classroom teachers will be at school to distribute your child’s personal belongings and other items (such as yearbooks, etc.). Like our Chromebook distribution plan, please bring your child to the school, remain in your vehicle, and follow the directions shared below. When you arrive, your child’s classroom teacher will bring your child’s belongings to your vehicle. During this exchange, please return any library books, classroom books, or other school property currently in your child’s possession. However, please keep your child’s Chromebook and charger with you over the summer. We understand that Governor Wolf has issued a “Stay at Home Order” for York County.  Based on the guidelines we have received, leaving your home for this purpose is an allowable individual activity.

Item drop off and pick-up will be designated by your child’s grade level during the following distribution times at Leaders Heights Elementary School.

Thursday, June 4th

8:00 AM - 8:45 AM Tucker (Lefever) (K)

8:45 AM - 9:30 AM Zorbaugh (K)

9:30 AM - 10:15 AM Bellomo (1)

10:15 AM - 11:00 AM Gibbs (1)

11:00 AM – 11:45 AM Dohm (2)

11:45 AM – 12:30 PM Marsala (2)

1:00 PM – 1:45 PM Klein (3)

1:45 PM – 2:30 PM Peters (3)

For us to provide this opportunity as safely as possible, please adhere to the following procedure for pick up:

Parents will enter the bus lane and pull up to lobby doors.  PLEASE STAY IN YOUR CAR!!  Staff members will be available to collect your child’s materials from you and hand you a bag with your child’s belongings.  Cars pull away and next cars pull up.

If you are unable to come to school during your child’s scheduled time frame or need to pick up materials for multiple grade levels at the same time, please contact me directly at charles.patterson@dallastown.net. We understand that this is not an ideal scenario for our students, families, and staff, but we thank you for your understanding and cooperation in keeping our school community safe. We will continue to work together during these challenging times and look forward to the day when we can learn together again in person.
