Ms. Jaclyn Smith
Assistant Principal
Welcome to a new school year! My name is Jackie Smith, and I am honored to join the Leaders Heights community. I began my career as a classroom teacher, spending 10 years in the School District of Lancaster before serving the past 11 years as an Intervention and Support Teacher in the Hempfield School District, where I worked with students in kindergarten through sixth grade to support their academic and behavioral success. I also served as the Elementary Math Coordinator for five years, leading district-wide math programming and development for teachers and students. I earned my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and master's degrees in Language and Literacy with a Reading Specialist concentration and Educational Leadership from Millersville University. Throughout my career, the most rewarding part of my work has been building positive relationships with students and families and helping children develop a love of school and learning from an early age.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my 11-year-old son, who keeps me busy with playing basketball, football, and the saxophone. I also enjoy being outdoors, completing projects around the house, and traveling to new places whenever we have the chance. I am excited to get to know the students, families, and staff who make Leaders Heights such a special place. Together, we will embrace The Wildcat Way by being responsible, respectful, and safe in everything we do. My goal is to ensure every student has the opportunities, encouragement, and support they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. I believe strong partnerships between school and home are essential to student success, so please don't hesitate to reach out with questions or if there is ever a way I can support your family. I look forward to meeting each of you and to a wonderful school year filled with learning, growth, and celebration!
Sincerely,
Ms. Jaclyn Smith
